Prince Charles Gives His Friend's Daughter Away at Her Wedding – and the Queen Was On-Hand to Watch!

Even Queen Elizabeth II can't resist a good wedding.

The Queen and other members of the British royal family attended the wedding of Alexandra Knatchbull, daughter of Lord and Lady Brabourne and great-granddaughter of the late Lord Mountbatten, and entrepreneur Thomas Hooper on Saturday. Prince Charles even gave the bride away since his friend Norton Knatchbull (Lord Brabourne) was too ill to do so.

This isn't the first time the two families have served important roles in each other's weddings. Charles served as the best man at Lord Brabourne's wedding in 1979. Lord Brabourne is also Prince Philip's godson while Charles' late ex-wife, Princess Diana, was godmother to Alexandra, now 33.

The bride looked stunning in a satin cap-sleeved gown completed with a lace veil and tiara adorning her updo. Her Majesty, joined by her husband, was all smiles in a peach floral coat and hat.

Other attendees included Princess Anne, Queen Sophia of Spain, Prince Hassan bin Talal of Jordan and Princess Sarvath al-Hassan.

Despite the fanfare of the "society wedding of the year," Rev. Canon Timothy Sledge shared that the celebration was really about the family and the couple.

"They’ve put in a huge amount of effort, thought and care into it. It’s got that personal touch," he said, according to The Telegraph. "It’s very much what they wanted and what the bride wanted.
