  • At the Travalyst sustainable tourism summit in Edinburgh on Wednesday, Prince Harry was introduced as simply "Harry" before going onstage to give a speech.

  • "He's made it clear that we are all just to call him Harry," said the event's host, Ayesha Hazarika.

  • The Duke of Sussex's appearance at the summit marks his first event since returning to the United Kingdom this week from Canada, where he and his wife, Duchess Meghan, and son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, now reside.

The Duke of Sussex is ready to take things to a first-name basis.

Prince Harry attended the Travalyst sustainable tourism summit in Edinburgh, Scotland, today, the first of the last remaining royal obligations for the duke before he and Duchess Meghan transition to post-royal life. And right before he took the stage for a short speech, the summit's host, Ayesha Hazarika, informed the audience that the duke wanted to be referred to by just his first name.

"He's made it clear that we are all just to call him Harry," said Hazarika in a video shared by Rebecca English, the royal correspondent for the Daily Mail. "So, ladies and gentlemen, please give a big, warm, Scottish welcome to Harry."

Harry's suggested moniker adjustment follows a slew of transitional changes for him and Meghan. Since announcing their decision to step down as senior members of the royal family, it's been announced that the couple will no longer publicly use HRH titles, as well as no longer have access to the word royal in regard to independent branding apart from the monarchy.
