Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Were Super-Close to Giving Archie Harrison a Different Name

From Good Housekeeping

  • Meghan Markle and Prince Harry almost named their son, Archie Harrison, something else.

  • They apparently considered naming Archie ~Archibald~ for a hot sec!

TBH, it's pretty hard to imagine Archie Harrison with a name that isn't Archie Harrison. I mean, isn't it the cutest little boy's name you've ever heard? But believe it or not,

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry *almost* gave Archie a different name, according to a friend who spoke to Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand for their Finding Freedom book.

Hello! reports that Meghan and Harry's friend said they "wanted something traditional, a name that was powerful even without a title in front of it." At first, they considered giving Archie the longer, more official version of his name. "They thought about Archibald for all of one second...He was always going to be little Archie," the source added.

Of course, Archie isn't the only name Meghan and Harry call him. While Harry was on a video call for the 125th anniversary of the Rugby Football League, he called Archie "our little man" while talking about how he wants to get his son into the sport eventually.

"I've got a little space outside, which I'm fortunate enough to have so I need to get [Archie] playing some Rugby League," Harry said. "I'm just unbelievably fortunate and grateful to have outdoor space and see my son be able to be outside, because I know so many people just haven't had that opportunity in the last five months."

"Our little man is our number one priority, but our work after that is the second priority," the royal continued. "We’re just trying to do everything we can to do our part to make the world a better place." Reminder: Archie is also called "Arch" and sometimes "bubba" by Meghan, too.

BRB, crying my eyes out from cuteness overload.
