Prince Harry and Meghan's Markle's engagement said to be 'imminent'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to announce their engagement imminently, according to royal sources.

The Daily Star has revealed that the Queen’s royal household has been called to a big meeting this morning, prompting rumours that the couple will be announcing their intention to marry.

“They are set to release a statement from Kensington Palace later on, but if it is not released today it will be on Monday,” a source told the paper.

“I think the announcement will be about Harry and Meghan’s engagement, but we will have to wait and see.”

On Thursday, bookmakers suspended any further betting on a royal wedding after more rumours that the BBC had been prepped for an engagement announcement emerged.

“Royal watchers would love a Christmas engagement announcement, and as far as we’re concerned it’s coming imminently,” a Ladbrokes spokesperson told MailOnline.

“Meghan has met her prince charming and it looks like this fairytale is going to end happy ever after.”

The 36-year-old actress is thought to have made a permanent move to London after removal vans were reportedly spotted outside her Toronto home earlier this week.

Meghan is currently in London and was photographed shopping on the King’s Road on Tuesday.

Harry and Meghan have been dating since last summer. The royal couple only made their public debut in September at Toronto’s Invictus Games. They made no attempt at hiding their relationship, holding hands and whispering into each other’s ears.

The last time Buckingham Palace’s household was called to a meeting was in May when Prince Philip announced he was stepping down from royal duties.
