By now, we know that the royal family are no strangers to a bargain buy.

After all, not only has the Duchess of Cambridge shown a proclivity for the high street, but she’s ensured that her three children have followed suit.

While on occasion, her trio of tots have all donned pieces from boutique brands such as Amaia Kids and Pepa & Company, more often than not they can be seen sporting pieces straight from the British high street. In this case specifically, a British supermarket.

In a previously unseen photograph of Prince Louis that his parents shared to thank well-wishers who sent messages for his second birthday, the two-year-old can be seen wearing a £12 gingham shirt from Tu, Sainsburys' in-house fashion brand (it's unfortunately now out of stock.)

The supermarket stalwart launched its exclusive Tu line in 2004 and it's now the tenth biggest clothing retailer in the UK, showing that the Duchess knows a thing or two about kitting our her kids.

While Prince Louis' mini gingham shirt may be out of stock, Tu looks like it may just be the place to be for affordable fashion. Here are some of the best pieces for little boys to shop now.
