Prince Philip planned extraordinary alien meeting with UFO called Janus
Prince Philip reportedly had a keen interest in UFOs and was even on the brink of meeting an alleged alien himself. A new documentary, The King Of UFOs, recounts a tale where the late Duke of Edinburgh was scheduled to meet an alleged extraterrestrial named Janus, who had previously met with Philip's equerry, Sir Peter Horsley.
Despite the alien's desire to converse with the Duke, the encounter never occurred, reports the Express. In his book, Sounds from Another Room, Sir Peter, who served as the Duke's 'equerry' from 1949 to 1956, revealed that Philip had a profound interest in UFOs and even requested him to bring witnesses to Buckingham Palace for private discussions.
It is reported that Philip spent the summer of 2019 engrossed in The Halt Perspective, a book recounting the Rendlesham Forest incident, often referred to as 'Britain's Roswell', where peculiar lights were observed at RAF Woodbridge, Suffolk, in 1980. One serviceman claimed to have come within touching distance of a 'craft of unknown origin' in the forest.

The Duke, known for his environmental concerns, also had several other books about extraterrestrials in his collection, including Haunted Skies: The Encyclopedia of British UFOs. According to The Sun, the Duke's fascination with UFOs was sparked by an incident involving his uncle Lord Mountbatten, who penned an official report about a silver spaceship allegedly landing on his Broadlands estate in Romsey, Hampshire, in 1955.
The report, which remained confidential until after Lord Mountbatten's death in 1979, revealed an incident where bricklayer Fred Briggs saw the craft floating above the ground, A figure, clad in overalls and a helmet, reportedly emerged from the bottom of the vehicle.
Following this, Briggs was allegedly knocked off his bike and held to the ground by 'an unseen force'. It is thought that Philip maintained an interest in UFOs up until his death at the age of 99 in 2021.
