Prince William and Kate Reportedly Have a “Conscious” Agreement Over the Harry Feud
William finds cutting ties to be the easiest path.
For royal fans out there who are despairingly hoping Prince William and Princess Kate will reconcile with Prince Harry and see a return of the once-inseparable trio, don't hold your breath. It appears their estranged relationship and years of animosity has given way to an agreement between the Cambridges to keep their distance from the Duke of Sussex.
An insider told The Mirror that the couple has made the joint decision to cut ties with Harry and "focus on positivity." The choice comes as Kate continues to undergo preventative cancer treatment and William juggles caring for his family with his prominent royal role.
A source confirmed the news to OK!, saying, "William and Kate are very consciously focusing on positivity and recovery."
Royal expert Ingrid Seward elaborated on the heir's choice to The Mirror: "William is sensitive, he likes structure and has perseverance. He does not give up easily. His relationship with brother Harry upset him more than he would care to admit. But he found it easier to cut ties rather than allow himself to be continually annoyed."
William and Harry's relationship first soured back in 2018. Their feud has only raged on following Harry and his wife Meghan Markle stepping down as senior royals in January 2020, the Sussexes' revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, their Netflix documentary series in 2022, and Harry's memoir, Spare, in 2023.
Harry, who relocated to Montecito with Meghan and their kids in 2020, last traveled to the U.K. in May for the Invictus Games 10th anniversary, a visit that did not include meeting with any members of the royal family. He last saw his dad, King Charles III, in February, a day after his cancer diagnosis was announced, though they spent less than an hour together.
Earlier this month, Harry was called out for not being more supportive of Kate during her health battle. He and Meghan did, however, release a joint statement wishing her a quick recovery back in March.
