For the first time in three years, Prince William and Kate have publicly wished Prince Harry a happy 40th birthday. The Royal Family's official social media account on X, formerly known as Twitter, posted a picture of Prince Harry, wishing him a "very happy birthday".

The post was subsequently shared by the Prince and Princess of Wales, extending their well wishes to the Duke of Sussex.

The last time Harry received birthday wishes from the Royal Family account was three years ago in 2021, during the reign of the late Queen, according to the Mirror. The Prince and Princess of Wales' account also last publicly sent him birthday wishes in the same year.

Harry has been embroiled in a feud with his father and brother since he and his wife Meghan Markle made the dramatic decision to step down as working royals in 2020. The feud was fuelled further by Harry's explosive Netflix series in 2022 and his controversial memoir, Spare, released last year.

His estrangement from his brother William was highlighted when reports emerged that the siblings did not converse at a family funeral last month. It is believed that they had not spoken for over two years following the death of the late Queen, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Reports have emerged suggesting that Prince Harry and his father, the King, no longer talk, with a particular long-running issue deepening their estrangement. Insiders close to the Sussexes allege that Harry's attempts to discuss his security arrangements with his father are being ignored.

The Duke has been involved in an ongoing dispute over his security when visiting the UK, having lost his entitlement to police protection when he down as a working Royal.

Despite losing subsequent legal battles to have this reinstated for himself, his wife Meghan, and their two children, he is planning an appeal. PEOPLE magazine reports that Harry believes his father could assist in reinstating this, although a palace source has dismissed this claim as "wholly inaccurate".

A friend of Harry's told the magazine: "He gets 'unavailable right now'. His calls go unanswered. He has tried to reach out about the King's health, but those calls go unanswered too."

These revelations coincide with Harry's birthday, during which he expressed optimism for the future, stating: "Bring on the next decade". As he prepared to celebrate his 40th birthday on September 15, he told the BBC that becoming a father has given him a renewed sense of purpose to make "this world a better place".

Over the last decade, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have experienced significant changes, stepping back from Royal duties and relocating to the US in search of financial independence and personal freedom.

Now settled in Montecito, California, they seem pleased with their new life alongside their children Archie, five and Lilibet, three.

In a conversation with the BBC, Harry expressed his outlook on aging and fatherhood: "I was anxious about 30, I'm excited about 40. Becoming a father of two incredibly kind and funny kids has given me a fresh perspective on life, as well as sharpening my focus in all my work. Being a dad is one of life's greatest joys and has only made me more driven and more committed to making this world a better place. Bring on the next decade."

Prince Harry celebrated his 40th birthday on September 15. It is believed he marked the occasion with family and friends before taking time out with a close-knit group of friends.
