Even being a member of the Royal Family doesn't exempt you from occasionally irritating your children with rules they wish didn't exist. Prince William and Princess Kate are not shy about setting boundaries for their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. However, these rules aren't always well-received by the young royals, according to a report.

Kate has committed herself to promoting the importance of early years development, both as a mother and through her Royal duties. This involves spending quality time with her children and encouraging them to engage in active, healthy hobbies. However, this commitment sometimes makes her unpopular with her children.

GoodtoKnow reports that there is one rule that Kate refuses to budge on, much to the chagrin of her three children. The issue reportedly arose when Prince William and Kate were set to represent the monarchy at the Royal Variety Show, a glamorous event featuring world-class entertainers, reports the Mirror.

Back in 2023, the couple made an appearance at a glamorous event, where their three children pleaded to join in on the festivities. However, Kate put her foot down for a significant reason: "Not on a school night."

The Duchess of Cambridge's approach to parenting is notably stringent and echoes that of many parents across the UK, focusing on enforcing rules which are not always well-received by the youngsters.

In terms of screen time, Us Weekly reported some years back that the Duke and Duchess have restricted their children from using iPads, preferring to promote creative play and physical activity instead. A source disclosed: "Neither like the idea of putting an iPad on in front of the kids," highlighting that Kate and William hold strong beliefs in the value of toys, outdoor adventures, and nurturing an imaginative spirit.

More recently, Prince William gave an update on the family's continuous efforts to manage screen time. During an engagement at BAFTA, he candidly spoke about striving to "regulate" the children's device usage, emphasising the need to be careful with how much screen time they're allowed.
