Prince William receives football shirts with his children’s names in Scotland

The Duke of Cambridge has been presented with football shirts with his children’s names on them during a visit to Heart of Midlothian Football Club, Edinburgh.

Delighted Prince William accepted the gifts from Chief Executive Andrew McKinlay and Chair Ann Budge on Thursday.

The dad-of-three - who shares his three children Louis, George and Charlotte with the Duchess of CambridgeKate - beamed as he held up the Heart of Midlothian football shirts.

During his visit, the royal was given a tour around the stadium.

Also, he watched programme The Changing Room which was launched by Scottish Association for Mental Health in 2018 and has been delivered in football clubs across Scotland.

William and Kate have been busy with their royal duties since they arrived in Scotland.

On Wednesday, the Cambridges spent their day in Glasgow where they visited St John’s Primary School and also met with people who are helped by the Wheatley Group - a housing, care and property management group.

It comes after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge sent a special message to Deborah James and her family.

The couple have also donated to the fund set up by the campaigner who is receiving end-of-life care for bowel cancer.

In a personal tweet written by William and Kate, they said: “Every now and then, someone captures the heart of the nation with their zest for life & tenacious desire to give back to society.

“@bowelbabe is one of those special people. Her tireless efforts to raise awareness of bowel cancer & end the stigma of treatment are inspiring.

“We are so sad to hear her recent update but pleased to support the @bowelbabef, which will benefit the @royalmarsdenNHS among others.

“Deborah, our thoughts are with you, your family and your friends. Thank you for giving hope to so many who are living with cancer. W & C.
