Prince William has reportedly given several 'hopeful' indications about his wife Kate's progress amid her cancer treatment, insiders have claimed. Kate has been undergoing preventative chemotherapy for months after being diagnosed with cancer following significant abdominal surgery earlier this year.

She has largely remained out of the public eye during her treatment and recovery, only making official public appearances this year at Trooping the Colour and the men's Wimbledon final in July. It is now suggested that she is hoping to join the Royal Family at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday in November and host her annual Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey the following month.

According to The Sunday Times, those close to Kate and her husband have pointed to several 'hopeful' signs of Kate's progress amid her recovery - and they've been hinted at by the Prince of Wales. An insider revealed that William has appeared noticeably more relaxed recently and that his diary of engagements after the summer break is 'fuller'.

When it was first announced that Kate had undergone major abdominal surgery and later received a cancer diagnosis, William also took time away from duties to care for his wife and their children, reports the Mirror. At the time - and following the cruel speculation about Kate before she disclosed her diagnosis - it was reported that William had been feeling the pressure, but now it is said his mood has lifted.

Meanwhile, Kate, who has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer, may potentially join the King at the national service in Whitehall on November 10 to honour those who died in conflict, as reported by The Sunday Times. Preparations are also understood to be in progress for her annual televised 'Together At Christmas' carol service set to take place at Westminster Abbey in December.

While no specific timeline has been disclosed for her return to the limelight, Kate provided an inspiring update before the Trooping the Colour ceremony. She expressed in a poignant written statement that she is recuperating well but is "not out of the woods yet" experiencing "good days and bad days" amid her ongoing treatment.

And friends have echoed to The Sunday Times that this sentiment of unpredictable good and bad days "still rings true".

On Friday, Kate conveyed a rare personal message regarding her patronages as Prince William resumed Royal engagements following the summer break. In her capacity as co-president of the Scout Association, she shared her excitement about engaging with the new UK chief scout, Dwayne Fields.

She said: "Delighted to welcome @DwayneFields as the new UK chief scout."

"The Scouts is such an incredible organisation, teaching #SkillsForLife and making a huge difference to young people across the country. Looking forward to working with you! C" The sign-off with a 'C' signifies that it was a personal note from Kate herself. Her longstanding commitment as joint president of the Scouts Association is noteworthy, particularly as she serves alongside the Duke of Kent and as the first female in this role.

In the days following King Charles' Coronation last year, Kate notably joined William and their three children for a visit to a Scouts hut in Slough, where they all chipped in to help refurbish the facilities. Having begun her involvement with the Scouts as a volunteer during her time on Anglesey, Kate has been hailed as "a great friend" to the movement, the Scouts website attests.
