Prince William shares the worst gift he's ever given to the Duchess of Cambridge
The Duke of Cambridge joined football star Peter Crouch, sports journalist Tom Fordyce and radio host Chris Stark on BBC's The Peter Crouch Podcast, which aired this week.
William recorded the podcast pre-lockdown in Kensington Palace and then rejoined the group via Zoom to chat more about the work he is doing with Heads Up.
As well as speaking about the importance of sport on mental wellbeing, the Duke opened up about family life and revealed the worst gift he's ever given the Duchess of Cambridge.
In response to Peter Crouch revealing he has accidentally bought his wife the same coat three years in a row, William said: "I got my wife a pair of binoculars once."
"She's never going to let me forget that. That was early on in our courtship... I think that sealed the deal really, she fell for me at that point," he joked.
"I think I was convincing myself about it [saying] 'but yeah these are really amazing, look how far your can see', and she was looking at me going 'they're binoculars, what's going on?'"
Poor Kate!
The Duke of Cambridge is backing a new Heads Up with The FA campaign, encouraging those who play, support or work within football to talk about their mental health as much as they do football, hoping to help them feel comfortable opening up to family and friends about how they feel.
