Prince William's secret visit to MI6 as Princess Kate plans public return
Prince William held a secret meeting as his wife Kate Middleton prepares to step back in the spotlight. It has been months since the Princess of Wales stepped out for an official event following her announcement about battling cancer.
Kate's return to prominence came during the Trooping the Colour celebrations in June 2024. It marked her first public engagement since the disclosure of her health issues.
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, the Prince of Wales was reportedly meeting with MI6. The royal's visit to the British Secret Intelligence Service wasn't made public until confirmation came via the Court Circular after the fact, reports the Mirror.

The official record displayed the entry: "The Prince of Wales this afternoon visited the Secret Intelligence Service", omitting further particulars or location.
Being responsible for foreign intelligence, MI6 plays a pivotal role in keeping the UK safe from international threats. This isn't the first time that Prince William has spent time with the intelligence agency and there's a long-standing connection between the royals and Britain's spies.
Both his grandmother, the late Queen, and King Charles have also made multiple visits. Adding to this, back in 2019, he discreetly worked with each of the UK's Intelligence Services MI5, MI6, and GCHQ for three weeks.
The Telegraph offers insights suggesting that during his stint at MI6, the heir to the throne was immersed in the intricate work of the agency's web of spies and handlers, whose roles are vital in collecting foreign intelligence that safeguards the country.
A spokesperson revealed that the Prince has witnessed how staff at the service, which gained global recognition through the James Bond films, "identify and exploit opportunities as well as navigate risks to its national security, military effectiveness and economy from those who wish the UK harm".
It is believed he also engaged in training exercises for new recruits, focusing on how to pinpoint threats and strategise their investigation. William's second week was with MI5, delving into the intricacies of counter-terrorism operations on British soil, involving "analysis and surveillance".
Security insiders informed The Sunday Telegraph that the Duke received a rundown of the service's investigative powers and tools used to tackle suspected terrorism. His final week took him to GCHQ in Cheltenham.
This intelligence and security organisation is tasked with providing signals intelligence and information assurance to the UK government and armed forces. During his time there, William "spent time with those using cutting-edge technology, technical ingenuity and wide-ranging partnerships to identify, analyse and disrupt threats".
Prince William has spoken about his stint working with MI5, MI6, and GCHQ, describing it as a "truly humbling experience." He said: "Spending time inside our security and intelligence agencies, understanding more about the vital contribution they make to our national security, was a truly humbling experience.
"These agencies are full of people from everyday backgrounds doing the most extraordinary work to keep us safe. They work in secret, often not even able to tell their family and friends about the work they do or the stresses they face.
"They are driven by an unrivalled patriotism and dedication to upholding the values of this country. We all owe them deep gratitude for the difficult and dangerous work they do."
