Princess Anne had always predicted that "Meghan would have a very short shelf-life" within the Royal Family, according to a Royal expert.

In 2020, Harry and Meghan departed the UK to begin a new life in California. The Duke of Sussex expressed his desire to raise his children in a different environment.

Since their move, the couple has frequently criticised the Royal Family during interviews with American media outlets. Neil Sean, a Royal expert, suggested that Princess Anne foresaw Meghan's difficulties fitting into the Royal family from the moment she advised her to treat her Royal role as a "job" rather than a celebrity status.

Princess Anne is renowned for her diligent work ethic within the Royal family. Mr Sean indicated that she was offering Meghan guidance on how to navigate her role as Harry's wife, reports the Mirror.

However, he alleges that an insider informed him that Meghan was left "left the meeting dumbfounded" after their meeting. He quoted the source as saying: "According to a very good source Meghan Markle failed to warm to Princess Anne, and Princess Anne always knew that Meghan would have a very short shelf-life in the world of the British monarchy."

On his YouTube channel, Mr Sean stated: "This senior royal takes no nonsense, much like her father the late Duke of Edinburgh. Apparently, when Meghan Markle joined the Royal Family, she sought out Princess Anne. According to a very good source, Princess Anne gave very sage advice to the new royal."

Princess Anne has long embodied the ethos of being a dutiful royal, as per reporting from the Express by Mr. Sean: "Princess Anne reiterated this mantra, she pointed out that it wasn't a working monarchy, it was a job, you turn up on time, you do your research, and do the duty. It's all about the project at hand. She also pointed out that whatever charities you are involved in, you needed to get involved and get immersed."

Nevertheless, Mr Sean suggests Meghan Markle might not have fully embraced such principles during her tenure as patron of the National Theatre, allegedly not engaging deeply with the role, unlike Princess Anne who remains steadfast in her Royal obligations.

Highlighting her commitment, the Princess Royal notably stood out at the Coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla earlier this year when she was appointed the King's "official bodyguard", honouring her years of unwavering loyalty. During the ceremony, she took part in the procession, holding the distinguished title of "Gold-Stick-in-Waiting", a significant role historically reserved for someone charged with protecting the monarch.
