Zara Tindall, known for her laid-back approach to Royal life, and her husband Mike Tindall are among the most adored members of the Royal family. However, there was a time when Zara's appearance raised eyebrows, with Princess Anne's response being even more surprising.

Back in 1998, a 17-year-old Zara decided to get her tongue pierced while studying at Gordonstoun, the Scottish boarding school attended by many royals. The silver stud was first noticed during King Charles's 50th birthday party, but it had vanished by the following year, as reports the Express.

Princess Anne cleverly handled the situation, allowing Zara to express her teenage rebellion rather than insisting she remove it. In a 2011 interview with Tatler magazine, the same year she wed Mike in Edinburgh, Zara quipped: " At least I didn't have it coming out of my nose, or anything."

It was also reported that Princess Anne, unfazed by Zara's new look, simply asked if her daughter could still speak properly with the piercing.

Princess Anne maintains a close relationship with her daughter and grandchildren, with Zara and Mike residing on Anne's Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire with their three children Mia, Lena and Lucas. Their home, Aston Farm, is a sprawling 700-acre property boasting seven bedrooms, a home cinema, a gym and a games room,
