Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are “quite worried” about their father Prince Andrew and are “taking it in turns to visit him”, a royal expert has claimed.

Andrew is currently locked in a row with older brother King Charles who reportedly wants him to move out of Royal Lodge. The 64-year-old signed a 75-year lease for the 30-room property from the Crown Estate in 2003.

Part of it stipulates that Andrew must fund the upkeep of the property, although recent pictures show parts of the mansion have fallen into disrepair.

And with the King cutting off Andrew’s personal allowance and pulling funding for his security team, it has left the prince facing a large bill. There had been questions about how Andrew would fund the expenses, but he is said to have secured money from an anonymous donor.

Andrew’s income has been called into question lately after he stepped down as a working royal and relinquished his HRH titles in 2019 following his car crash Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis. Andrew has been widely unpopular with the public since the release of the BBC interview where he discussed his friendship with late convicted paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein.

Insiders now claim his daughters are taking it in turns to visit Andrew as they become “increasingly worried” about him. On the Palace Confidential podcast, Daily Mail Editor-at-Large Charlotte Griffiths said: “Beatrice is very protective of her father, even more so than Eugenie, and I think they are quite worried about him. So they are taking it in turns to visit him like he is in an old people’s home or something.”

It comes after reports surfaced this week saying the York sisters were spending alternate weekends at Royal Lodge with their father. The princess are said to take their young families along to boost Andrew’s spirits, reports Express.co.uk.

Charlotte continued: “The implication being he is really in the doldrums, he’s sitting on his own, and can’t bear to leave the house, occasionally goes riding, and doesn’t have much social life.

"So they’ve taken on this very parental, nurturing role, and they are taking care of their father.

“And I have to say, it kind of rings true because I keep hearing things about how he is very reluctant to leave the house more or less. I don't want to say agoraphobic, I think that's pushing it too far, but who can blame him in some ways because he has had this terrible siege of Royal Lodge going on around him and probably doesn’t dare to leave the place in case they lock the doors behind him.

“Everything he has known has been stripped away from him. This is a man who lived by his bombastic ability to appear at a dinner party and show off who he knows and how fabulous he is, that is his identity and for wrong and right, that is who he was.”

Reports say Andrew, who is fond of horse riding, has been seen driving Beatrice's daughter, Sienna Mapelli Mozzi, through the park and showing her how to ride. He is also said to leave his house with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson to walk their five Norfolk Terriers and two of the late Queen's Corgis.
