Princess Beatrice is reportedly “torn” over her loyalty to her father Prince Andrew and to her duty as Princess and to the Royal Family and its reigning monarch. King Charles. Charles and Andrew have reportedly been at odds over Royal Lodge, the Duke of York's residentce.

Former BBC correspondent Jennie Bond said: “You have to feel for Beatrice. She must be so torn between loyalty to the Crown and loyalty to her father."

It comes after King Charles tried to evict the Duke of York from Royal Lodge by cutting his £1million-a-year allowance, with Andrew, the father of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, refusing to downsize. Ms Bond added: “She could be an effective mediator, if one is needed.

"What we don’t know is quite how things actually stand between Charles and Andrew. Thus far, despite the obvious tensions over Royal Lodge, the brothers have shared family time together at Windsor and Sandringham."

Ms Bond continued to tell OK!: "It will be interesting to see if he and Sarah are included in the Christmas gathering this year. If they are absent, it will tell us much about the state of their relationship.” She said: "Perhaps Beatrice can persuade her dad that Frogmore Cottage is really rather lovely, and his life could be a whole lot easier if he moved there."

Beatrice is pregnant with her second child, Buckingham Palace has announced. The 36-year-old princess, Elizabeth II's granddaughter, and husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, are preparing to welcome their new child in early spring. King Charles III has been informed and both families are “delighted”.

The baby will be born 11th in line to the throne, with Beatrice’s younger sister Princess Eugenie moving down to 12th place. The couple, who married in 2020, have a three-year-old daughter named Sienna, who was born at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
