Princess Eugenie may well call her first child Victoria or Arthur, according to the latest odds.
Eugenie is expecting her first baby with husband Jack Brooksbank in “early 2021” and speculation is mounting over the couple’s preferred names for their child.
They have not announced the sex of the baby, but girls’ name Victoria is currently top of the ranks according to Coral.
Victoria is also one of Eugenie’s middle names and is at 3-1.
It’s followed by Arthur, at 5-1.
Oliver and Mary are both at 6-1, then Edward and Lily at 8-1.
Elizabeth, Eugenie’s grandmother’s name, is also at 8-1.
Eugenie is the granddaughter of the Queen and the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, the Duchess of York.
Although her parents are divorced they live together at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.
Betters who think Eugenie’s parents’ names could feature in her baby name choice are getting odds of 14-1 for Sarah and 25-1 for Andrew.
Andrew, 60, stepped back from royal duties in 2019 after an interview on BBC Newsnight about his friendship with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Coral’s John Hill said: “Victoria is the new favourite in Princess Eugenie’s baby name betting.
“It is no surprise that Victoria has been popular as it obviously has a lot of history in the royal family.”
Queen Victoria is the second longest-reigning British monarch and was on the throne for more than 63 years from 1837 until 1901.
She was overtaken by Queen Elizabeth II, who is set to mark 70 years on the throne in 2022.
Coral are also offering longer odds on names like Joe, after Joe Biden, and Boris, after the UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
Joe is at 20-1, while Boris is at 66-1, and Donald, after the last US President, is at 250-1.
Odds that Eugenie would choose Meghan are 100-1.
Hill said: “Of all the political leaders in the world, it is President Joe Biden that Princess Eugenie is most likely to name her new baby after.
“The 46th president has offered a lot of people a better future and the royal couple could take inspiration from the new occupant of the White House.
“Interestingly, our betting suggests Eugenie is more likely to call her baby Boris than Meghan. Make what you will of that.”
Eugenie and Brooksbank were believed to have moved into Frogmore Cottage, the UK residence of her cousin Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle late last year.
The home is in the grounds of Windsor Castle and would have put her close to her grandmother, the Queen, and her parents.
However soon after reports of the move, the couple was said to have moved back to their London home.
