Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank Just Set Off On Their Carriage Ride Through Windsor
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's wedding day is finally here and the newlyweds just set off on a dreamy carriage procession throughout the town of Windsor. Following the ceremony in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, the happy couple ventured off on a short carriage procession around the town of Windsor.
The charming procession began at the Royal Mews, and took the newly minted couple out of Windsor Castle and on to part of High Street. The route is similar to the one taken by Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex after their wedding in 1999.
And while part of the path is the same as Harry and Meghan's post-wedding carriage ride, Eugenie and Jack will not travel along the Long Walk. The Palace also revealed the best viewing spots for members of the public to catch a glimpse of the couple: Castle Hill, the High Street and Park Street in Windsor.
Additionally, the royals revealed that Princess Eugenie and Jack have invited nearly 1,200 members of the public into the grounds of Windsor Castle on the wedding day. In order to snag one of the coveted Windsor Castle spots during Eugenie and Jack's wedding, fans were asked to apply through the royal family's website. Those guests will also have a perfect view of the couple as they depart for their carriage ride following the ceremony.
1,200 members of the public will be able to view the arrival of the congregation and Members of the Royal Family, listen to a live broadcast of the Marriage Service and watch the start of the procession as the couple depart at the end of the Wedding ceremony.

The Palace is also helping crowds of royal fans figure out how to get to the carriage route. Early on Friday morning, crowd barriers were placed on the roads to keep things in control. Visitors who were traveling to Windsor for the wedding were subjected to a screening and search process. Additional security measures were also in place on the wedding day: CCTV, search dogs, and a strong police presence, per Hello. The security costs for the day are estimated to be around £2 million, which is over $2.6 million USD.
Prior to the big day, Windsor geared up to welcome royals, guests, and crowds of fans by sharing a preview of Eugenie and Jack's procession route on their official Twitter account.

Eugenie and Jack's carriage journey was a major highlight of their wedding day, just like it was on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's big day. Harry and Meghan rode around Windsor in the Ascot Landau carriage, and the newlyweds snuck in a second kiss on their romantic ride.
It's also when AP photographer Yui Mok snapped the now-iconic photo called "Diana's view," taken of the royal couple from above during the carriage ride.
