Princess Eugenie is celebrating her son Ernest Brooksbank's first birthday today and has marked special the occasion by sharing four delightful unseen photos of the tot on Instagram.

The York princess, who is the youngest child of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, uploaded the snaps which included one of Ernest in a personalised football shirt, another of him at Easter and a sweet shot of his big brother August giving him a kiss on the cheek.

She captioned the post: "One year of you my dear Ernest. Happy birthday! ! We all love you so much, especially your enormous smile you give the world.. but you always save an extra special one for Mumma. Xxx" followed by a kissing face emoji.

Little Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank was born on May 30 2023, making him the second son for Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank, who are also parents to three year old August, the Express reports.

The youngest member of the family made his arrival just a few weeks after King Charles's Coronation on May 6, with Eugenie attending the ceremony heavily pregnant.

Since Ernest's birth, Eugenie has been very selective about the images she shares of him, as she is with her older son August.

The princess prefers to share images on her personal Instagram account, although she never shows their faces.

Royal fans were quick to gush over the new photos in the comments, with one saying: "Happy birthday can't believe it's been a whole year."

Another added: "What a charming baby (August, too, of course) ? ? ? ? ? ? Happy Birthday, Ernest! My dad's name is also Ernest."
