Princess Kate to present Wimbledon trophy
Catherine, Princess of Wales, will attend the Wimbledon men's tennis final and present the trophy, the Palace has confirmed.
The outing to the Wimbledon final, to be played between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic, will mark only the second public event the Princess has attended since revealing her cancer diagnosis.
Despite her recent step back from public duties, officials at the Wimbledon tennis tournament had previously said they were "hopeful" that Kate would be able to return to present trophies after Sunday's final.
The princess, who carried out the duty in 2023, is known to be a tennis lover and keen amateur player.
"We're hopeful that the Princess of Wales will be able to present the trophies as the Club's patron, but her health and recovery is the priority," All England Club chair Debbie Jevans said recently.
The palace confirmed Kate was stepping back from her royal duties in March, after the princess released a surprise video on social media to share her cancer journey.
She is now undergoing preventative treatment.
Meanwhile, Prince William will fly to Berlin for the Euro 2024 final as England face off against Spain, the palace has also confirmed.
He will be joined by Britain's new prime minister, Sir Keir Starmer, as the men's team attempts to put aside its final stage knockout against Italy in 2021.
