Pringles make major move after getting 'bored' with the stackable crisp

Everyone knows Pringles by their trademark tubes packed with stackable crisps, each sitting one on top of the other - just waiting to be popped.

But the firm behind the popular snack has made a major announcement after getting 'bored' with their world-famous trademark. A whole new version of the savoury treat is on the way and it will neither be flat or in a tube.

Kellanova which manufactures Pringles is preparing to launch "Pringles Mingles". And in a move away from their traditional form these will be puffed crisps - and they will come in a bag.

The firm describes the new snack as "a puffy, irresistibly delicious and shareable snacking experience unlike one you've ever had from Pringles." Announcing the move it said: "Pringles are already out-of-this-world delicious, but now they're out-of-the-can and into the bag for a whole new way to enjoy the iconic crisps."

It added: "New Pringles Mingles are crispy on the outside and light and airy on the inside for a melt-in-your-mouth tasting experience. Each bite-size puff mingles two mouthwatering Pringles flavours for a delectable palate adventure and boasts a bowtie-style shape inspired by Mr. P's signature look."

The new lineup will be available first in the USA in October with fans of the brand hoping it will then come to the UK. It comes in three flavours:

Mauricio Jenkins, US marketing lead for Pringles said: "Our iconic Pringles can is part of our identity - and it's not going anywhere - but we're always looking for new ways to innovate and satisfy our fans' latest cravings. This puffy, airy snack not only gives fans a new way to experience Pringles, but its easy-to-share packaging creates a new way to enjoy their favorite snack with friends and family, whether munching at home for movie night, at a party or on-the-go."

Alerting people to the new product UK Snack Attack said on Facebook: "YES you saw this correctly! The beautiful product designers at Pringles have decided they are bored of stackable crisps.... So they made puffed crisps!"

It added: "As you can tell these are very US focused flavours, hopefully they do well and then soon we shall see salt and vinegar mingles!"
