Private view of Giacometti at Tate Modern

Telegraph subscribers can attend an exclusive free private view of Tate Modern’s landmark Giacometti retrospective on Sunday, May 14 from 6.45pm to 9pm. Guests will also enjoy a talk by curator Lena Fritsch, plus a selection of drinks and nibbles.

Celebrated as a sculptor, painter and draughtsman, Giacometti’s distinctive elongated gures are some of the most instantly recognisable works of modern art. This exhibition reasserts Giacometti’s place alongside the likes of Matisse, Picasso and Degas as one of the great painter-sculptors of the 20th century.

This is the UK’s rst major retrospective of Alberto Giacometti for 20 years and brings together more than 250 works that have never been seen before.

Giacometti is being presented in The Eyal Ofer Galleries, supported by Maryam and Edward Eisler, with additional support from the Giacometti Exhibition Supporters Circle, Tate Patrons, Tate Americas Foundation and Tate Members.
