Pro-Abortion Rights Protesters March in Downtown Sioux Falls

A large pro-abortion rights demonstration moved through Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on June 29 before it was dispersed by police, who said the gathering didn’t have a permit.

Footage recorded by @Stinkshovel shows protesters marching and chanting against Gov Kristi Noem, who has defended the state’s “trigger law” banning abortion, which came into effect after the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade.

The Sioux Falls Police Department gave a briefing on the protest shortly before midnight on Wednesday, saying it did not have a permit.

A dispersal order was issued shortly before 9 pm. Police said most demonstrators had left the downtown area by around 10 pm. Credit: @Stinkshovel via Storyful
