A Pro-Palestine group took over a supermarket in Edinburgh on Saturday morning for a peaceful protest.

The group were pictured inside the Tesco store in Leith in a show of solidarity to those in the war-torn country. Scottish PSC said the turnout was 'terrific' as the group 'urged shoppers to think twice before buying genocide produce'.

Footage shared on social media showed the group chanting and shouting through megaphones "free Palestine" and waving flags as shoppers at self scan checkouts watched on.

One Tesco colleague appeared to be talking to a member of the group within the video.

As written on X, formally Twitter, Scottish PSC said: "Terrific turnout for our Saturday morning action in the Leith Tesco supermarket in Edinburgh today urging shoppers to think twice before buying genocide produce."

Tesco have been approached by Edinburgh Live for comment.
