Pro-Trump and anti-Trump protesters faced off in San Diego, California, on January 9, with the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) declaring an unlawful assembly.

Footage taken by Instagram user @downtownshenanigans shows a man approaching a protester chalking on the ground and shoving them. After being confronted by a group of demonstrators, the man ducks behind the police line.

The SDPD had declared an unlawful assembly on the afternoon of January 9, citing acts of violence and reporting pepper spray had been used against officers.
