Prolific shoplifter banned from entering Boots and bp services after stealing £14k in Greenwich
A prolific shoplifter, who has stolen more than £14,000 worth of goods, has been banned from entering a Boots store and a bp service station in Greenwich. Martin Jackson, 41, of Frobisher Road in Erith, was sentenced to three and a half years in prison by Woolwich Crown Court for nearly 100 different offences.
These offences included theft and breaches of a restraining order. Despite having already been given a Criminal Behaviour Order not to enter either Boots or the bp store, Jackson ignored the ban and continued to go into both shops.
He stole food, alcohol, toiletries and other goods. However, after he was arrested, officers scoured CCTV footage which showed Jackson brazenly stealing in broad daylight.

Following his court hearing on September 19, Jackson was sentenced, and a restraining order was also updated, banning him from entering a Boots store and bp service station on Trafalgar Road in Greenwich for five years.
Acting Superintendent, Rav Pathania, who oversees neighbourhood policing in Greenwich, said: “At the heart of our plan for London is focusing on the things that our communities, including our business communities, are most concerned about. Over the course of many months Jackson caused misery to businesses in Greenwich, that’s why we have been determined to get him off our streets and put behind bars."
He added: "I’m grateful to the support bp and Boots in particular provided to this investigation, which was central to us achieving justice for Jackson’s crimes.”
And Iona Blake, Europe mobility & convenience security manager, bp, said: “Safety comes first at bp, always. Nothing is more important. We want our colleagues to feel safe at work and our customers to have a great experience when visiting us. This is another great example of how collaboration can help us – and the sector - combat crime at our stores."
