Protest Against Fuel Prices Causes Traffic Backlog on UK Motorway
Protesters intentionally drove slowly to cause a traffic backlog on the M5 motorway near Burnham-on-Sea, UK, to protest fuel prices on July 22.
The protest was organized by the Fuel Price Stand Against Tax Facebook group and involved a convoy of vehicles driving at 30 mph to cause a disruption to traffic.
Kristen Hardy recorded footage of the protest and said it was causing “chaos” on the motorway.
The convoy later left the motorway and protested outside a gasoline station in Bridgwater. Credit: Kristen Hardy via Storyful
