Protesters Arrested at Minnesota Governor's Mansion

More than 20 protesters were arrested outside the Minnesota Governor’s Mansion in St. Paul on Tuesday, July 26, after police attempted to clear the street. The protesters have been holding a constant demonstration since the fatal police-involved shooting of Philando Castile on July 6.

Reports said 10 protesters were taken to jail while another 15 were issued citations and released.

Police arrived at the scene on Summit Avenue around 7:15 am to open up the street, according to a report. Police told local news outlets most protesters complied and left, but several remained and were arrested. Police also told news outlets protesters were allowed to be at the site so long as they did not obstruct the street or the sidewalk.
