Protesters Block Traffic at US Capitol to Call for Action on 'Build Back Better' Plan

Groups of protesters blocked traffic in Washington on December 7, calling on the US Senate to pass the ‘Build Back Better’ bill.

According to media reports citing local police, 38 people were arrested for “crowding, obstructing, or incommoding” as of Tuesday afternoon.

US Capitol Police had warned locals that drivers should anticipate sudden road closures and traffic delays. At around 8 am protesters blocked part of Independence Avenue and Fourth Street SW, as well as part of Pennsylvania and Constitution avenues.
