Protesters Chant 'Shame' Outside Benjamin Netanyahu's London Hotel

Protesters followed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from a meeting with his UK counterpart, Rishi Sunak, at Downing Street to the Savoy Hotel in London on Friday, March 24.

Footage recorded by @Nefolet shows protesters outside the hotel on the Strand in central London, where Netanyahu was reportedly staying.

Protesters shouted “shame” and “democracy,” chants that were also heard when Netanyahu arrived at Downing Street on Friday morning.

Downing Street said the leaders discussed “a free trade agreement, addressing the threat from Iran, and upholding democracy and stability in the region.”

Netanyahu’s proposed judicial reforms have met with popular opposition in Israel. Protesters in London were also opposed to the high cost of the Israeli leader’s visit to London, according to local media. Credit: @Nefolet via Storyful
