Protests between Turkish supporters and Dutch police escalated on the night of Saturday, March 11, with police using water cannons and dogs in an attempt to disperse the angry crowd.

Protests have erupted outside the countries’s consulates after Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu was barred by Dutch authorities from landing in Rotterdam on March 11 for a political rally geared towards Turkish expatriates. Hundreds rallied against the decision at the Rotterdam Turkish Consulate.
