Protesters gathered outside the New York City offices of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) where leading immigration activist Ravi Ragbir attended his annual check-in on March 9.
Supporters marched around Foley Square as Ragbir, the executive director of the New Sanctuary Coalition, was facing potential deportation from the country he has called home for the last 26 years. Around an hour later Ragbir was permitted to go home but his lawyer told press he would have to attend another appointment in a month’s time.
