Protesters Push Phalanx of Police to the Ground Outside Paris Train Station

Police and protesters clashed at the Gare de Lyon railway station in Paris on December 23 as strikes against proposed pension reforms were held nationwide.

This footage shows demonstrators moving toward the station being blocked by police, before protesters rush the officers, knocking them to the ground. Some protesters can be seen kicking at the police on the ground before running away.

Inside the Gare de Lyon station, protesters rallied and flares shone out through air thick with haze, reported to have been caused by smoke bombs.

Railway authorities said that five stations were closed due to the protests and that they were waiting on the go-ahead from police to reopen them.
