Protesters Toss Away Tear Gas Canisters Thrown by Venezuelan Police

Venezuelan police and National Guardsmen advanced on protesters marching on a highway in Caracas, Venezuela, on April 26, launching tear gas canisters which protesters picked up and threw away from the marchers.

Activists and Venezuelan opposition leaders said police forces launched tear gas at protesters in front of an elementary school in Caracas on Wednesday, impacting children in school there.

Venezuelans across the country are protesting in ongoing demonstrations against President Nicholas Maduro and his administration, whom the opposition say is trying to evade new elections.
