Protesting Israeli Arab Lawmakers Removed From Knesset Ahead of Pence Speech

Israeli Arab lawmakers who were protesting the presence in the Knesset of US Vice President Mike Pence were removed as Pence began his speech to the parliament on January 22.

Video here shows security staff rushing towards members holding up placards against Pence.

Beforehand, members of the Arab-majority party Joint List had said they would boycott Pence’s official address.

During his speech, Pence said that the US “stood with Israel,” and also called for the Palestinian leadership to “return to the table” for peace talks. Credit: Avital Leibovich via Storyful
