Provincial Police Chief Among Those Killed in Afghanistan Blasts

A number of people, including the police chief of Afghanistan’s Paktia province, were killed, and others injured, in an attack on a police headquarters in the region’s capital, Gardez, on October 17, according to reports.

There were conflicting reports about the total number of casualties.

Tolo cited Interior Ministry sources as saying insurgents had entered a training facility after an initial blast. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, according to reports.
