Sony has finally announced the price and release date for the PS5 and the PlayStation 5 Digital console.

The console will be released worldwide on November 19, with some areas of the world getting it a bit earlier.

You can buy a PS5 console for the price of £449, which is cheaper than a lot of people expected and the same price as the Xbox Series X.

There will also be a digital-only version released, which will be £359. Compared the Xbox Series X, the price for the normal console is exactly the same at £449 while the Series S is £100 cheaper than the PS5 Digital-only console.

The Series S is clearly cheaper because it isn't the same operating power or SSD size as the Series X, while the only difference with the digital-only PS5 is that it has no disc tray - everything else is the same inside.

America, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea will get the PS5 on November 12. The rest of the world, the UK included, will be getting the PS5 on November 19.

Also announced in the showcase was Final Fantasy XVI, the long-rumoured Harry Potter RPG has been officially revealed and a new God of War game was announced
