Sony is hosting a big PlayStation 5 showcase tonight which could be giving us a fixed release date and price on the new console.

The show will begin at 9pm BST and, according to the official PlayStation website, it is to "give you one more look at some of the great games coming to PS5 at launch (and beyond!)".

Sony's showcase will clock in around 40 minutes long, giving us updates on titles currently in development by Sony and other studios.

While this is suggested it could be entirely focused on showing us gameplay and some unannounced titles coming to the PS5, we think it is likely Sony will use this opportunity to give everyone a price and release date for the PS5.

This seems likely considering how Microsoft got ahead of the next-gen console curve by announcing the Xbox Series S and X release date of November 10 and the price for each console.

We've done a full rundown of everything we're predicting to see during this show – which is a lot – and you can check that out here.

Without further ado, here's how to tune in.

How to watch the PlayStation 5 Showcase event live in the UK

The show will begin tonight, September 16, at ppm BST.

You can watch along by going to the PlayStation's official YouTube channel here where the show will be broadcast live.

This is the second PS5-related event from Sony, with the last one taking place in June. Among other things, Ratchet and Clank, Demon's Souls and Horizon: Forbidden West were all announced during the show.

It seems incredibly likely that we'll get a good look at some as-of-yet unannounced games and, hopefully, the release date of the console which has remained as "Holiday 2020" since the console's reveal.

We will also be live-blogging the event when it begins, so make sure to watch along with us and keep up to date when our coverage starts.
