PSNI issue Belfast traffic warning ahead of planned parade and football match at Windsor Park

Police have issued a traffic warning ahead of a parade and football match in Belfast this afternoon.

Road users are advised of traffic disruption in the South Belfast area today, Saturday, September 14, due to a planned parade and football match at the National Stadium, Windsor Park. Irish League leaders Linfield are hosting reigning champions Larne at the stadium, with kick off at 3pm and gates open from 1.30pm.

The planned parade is expected to start from 2pm. Police said it will begin in the Frenchpark Street area, before making its way through Donegall Avenue, Broadway, Tavanagh Street, Donegall Road, Sandy Row, Wellwood Street, Ventry Lane, Dublin Road, Shaftsbury Square, Botanic Avenue, Posnett Street, Vernon Street, Walnut Street, Donegal Pass.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the PSNI added: "Traffic disruption should be expected until 5pm. Please follow the direction of Police at all times."
