PSV continue to be linked with interest in Coventry City star as 'potential reinforcement'
Coventry City’s Milan van Ewijk continues to be linked with interest from PSV Eindhoven with just days of the summer transfer window left to run.
It remains to be seen whether the Sky Blues’ resolve will be tested with a bid for the club’s impressive right-back who only joined the CBS Arena last summer, but all the signs are that the Championship club will resist any advances.
Certainly, as reported in the player’s native Netherlands, PSV would have to “open their wallets” to get City to even consider a deal, which appears extremely unlikely given the lateness in the window. De Telegraaf claims the "assumed" asking price is eight or nine million Euros (between £6.7m and £7.6m). ESPN sports channel claimed earlier this month that Van Ewijk is now valued at 10million Euros (£8.6m).

Mark Robins is understood to be in the market for a new right-back, although that is to add competition to the position and depth to his squad rather than replace Van Ewijk. The manager currently has no recognised cover for the slot other than playing Joel Latibeaudiere out of position.
De Telegraaf claims: “PSV still has to fill three positions in the final week of the transfer window. While a large number of candidates for the positions of central defender and left back have circulated so far, things have been a lot calmer around the proposed new right back.
“After it was previously announced that former Ajax player Kenny Tete is in the picture for that position, but it is probably unattainable, PSV now appears to be considering Milan van Ewijk as a potential reinforcement.”
The report continues: “Sources around the Eindhoven club indicate that director of football affairs Earnest Stewart recently obtained information about the 23-year-old right back of Championship club Coventry City.”
The article concludes: “Van Ewijk is expected to have become a lot more expensive compared to last summer. In England, Coventry’s asking price is assumed to be 8 to 9 million euros.”
Dutch sports journalist with over 28k followers on social media platform X, Marco Timmer, meanwhile, claims that while, “PSV previously inquired in the window about Milan van Ewijk. That did not lead to concrete interest.”
He adds: “The status from Coventry was also that they did not want to let Van Ewijk go so late in the window.”
