A pub that has become busier and busier in recent weeks has brought in a new rule so it can continue to ensure all customers get the best possible experience. It's been boom time for The Cheese Rollers bar and restaurant in Shurdington, near Cheltenham, as it experience a surge in customers at certain times of the day.

Now, the Cheese Rollers, in Shurdington Road, has asked groups of eight or more to book in advance. It also wants a pre-order 72-hours before the visit.

The pub was also so busy on Saturday, it was unable to take walk-ins for a while. It has suggested that the best thing for customers to do is to pre-book.

Writing on Facebook on Friday (May 31), it said: "Thank you to everyone who has visited recently. If you’ve been in the last 8 or so weeks you’ll notice that we have become significantly busier on food at certain times of the day specifically 12pm-2pm & some nights 5pm-7pm. As a result we have had to look at some of our practices to ensure that every guest has the right experience.

"We have only got a small kitchen and currently a small team of dedicated staff. We are still trying to recruit someone part time however recently we’ve had a number of large tables just rock up and expect food. We try to accommodate as much as possible but its puts additional delays on others bookings including some that have booked in advance.

"Therefore from today, any group bigger than 8 will need to book in advance and we would need a preorder 72 hours before your visit. This helps us prepare for the bigger orders but also allows us to continue to serve everyone else promptly.

"If you would to book a table for less than 8, please book via our website www.cheeserollers.co.uk/reservations rather than try and call as staff are usually busy and we would rather focus on the customers at hand. Thanks for your continued support, Shaun, Mary & Team Rollers."
