A popular pub can now serve more than 300 diners at the same time after undergoing a six-figure refurbishment. The Master Potter, in Cheadle, formerly a Hungry Horse venue, has now relaunched under the Greene King brand.

The Tean Road pub welcomed back punters for the first time on Saturday (September 21) after shutting last month. The changes have included extending the outdoor space to increase covers from 133 to 328.

Guests can now enjoy multiple al fresco seating areas, featuring a new covered pergola, as well as the open patio area. The outdoor furnishings have also had an upgrade, featuring new seating, mood lighting and improved heating as well as another outdoor TV screen.

The interior has undergone a full makeover, with new plush furniture, contemporary décor and updated toilets. The same open plan layout is still in place bit the space has been divided into zones such as the bar area, sports area and restaurant.

Part of the restaurant has now been partitioned off to create a function room, which can be booked as a private dining area, celebration space or meeting room. There are also hot desks giving locals somewhere to work, as well as new tables with built-in champagne ice buckets.

As part of the makeover, a new menu is also being brought in. It features small plates like mango and lime tacos, salt and pepper squid, nacho sharers alongside traditional pub classics. The pub offers deals such as ‘Burger of the month’, senior deals, two for £14.99 offer and small plates at three for £14.50 or five for £22.

The Master Potter - which is dog friendly - is also now offering a special new brunch menu from 9am every Saturday and Sunday.

The drinks menu has also had a revamp, with extra cocktails and mocktails with a new range of beers and ales such as Thatcher’s Fusions, Greene King’s Level Head and Abbott Speckled Hen.

Matt Dixon, general manager of the Master Potter, said: “Our team at the Master Potter cannot wait to open our doors to the community to showcase our new and improved offering.

“While the revamp has brought a whole new lease of life to the pub, The Master Potter will remain a pillar in the local community that we have always been and we look forward to welcoming back both new and old customers for an even better drinking and dining experience."
