Public urged to call police 'immediately' if they see missing man now thought to be driving van

Members of the public have been urged to call police 'immediately' if they see a missing man now thought to be driving a van.

Alan, 65, whose surname was not disclosed by police, was last seen on Etherow Avenue, in Romiley, at around 10pm on Sunday (July 7).

At the time of his disappearance, Alan was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark blue jeans and mustard-coloured shoes. GMP says he is also likely to be wearing a small earring in his left ear, in the shape of a leaf.

In a new update on Tuesday night (July 9), Greater Manchester Police have revealed it is thought he may now be driving a white Nissan NV200 van with the registration YK13 MGE.

The force asked anyone who sees a van matching the description or who has any information about Alan's whereabouts, to contact them 'immediately'.

Alan is described as white, with a shaved head and blue eyes. A photo of Alan has been issued on social media, alongside an urgent appeal to find him.

A GMP spokesperson added: "Officers want to make sure he is safe and well."
