Pub's special gesture to Huddersfield boy murdered outside his school
A Huddersfield pub is raising money in memory of a Huddersfield teenager who lost his life in a knife attack.
The White Swan pub in Kirkgate in the town centre is hoping to raise £600 to pay for a 'bleed kit' to be fitted outside the pub in case somebody is injured and needs emergency first aid.
The appeal is being done in memory of Huddersfield teenager Khayri Mclean, 15, who was stabbed to death as he walked home from school in Huddersfield in September 2022.

The White Swan posted details about the appeal on social media, writing: "With the family’s permission we are doing this in remembrance of Khayri McLean. A much loved local lad taken far too soon.
"As a subject close to many people’s hearts, comes with some great losses many of us have experienced and to help prevent losing anybody else we are wanting to raise £600 for a bleed kit to be fitted outside our pub to help anybody that gets severely injured in the town centre.
"This will be linked to healthcare providers to be able to gain access if our pub is closed, as we also have one inside the pub too!
"Bleed kits can save somebody’s life, with a defibrillator across the road at the church we are situated perfectly to be able to have this at reach should anybody ever need it!"
Details of a fundraising event are expected to be announced shortly. Meanwhile, donations can be left at the bar.
