Pucker up! Vladimir Putin kisses female supporter on the campaign trail

Russian President Vladimir Putin stunned onlookers in Russia by kissing a female supporter as he campaigns for re-election.

The famously terse Russian leader, 65, was seen kissing fan Larisa Sergukhina at the Luzhniki stadium in the capital Moscow after a concert which was intended to drum up support for him.

The event saw celebrity performers expressing their support for Putin, including popular
rapper Timati, 34.

But once the show finished, Putin agreed to have photos taken with his supporters – with one in particular garnering attention.

Onlookers were stunned when Putin planted a kiss on the forehead of admirer Ms Sergukhina.

Posting online, some Russian citizens even suggested that the man in the photo could be one of the Russian leader’s rumoured lookalikes.

‘It’s so dangerous act to do for such an important person, I think his bodyguards were shocked watching this’, one user wrote.

Another said: ‘She is an Internet star now! I want a selfie with the president as well! I’m jealous!’

Putin is the favourite to win the presidential election on 18th March, although questions have been repeatedly raised about the veracity of the forthcoming vote.

He faces opponents in the form of Pavel Grudinin of the Communist Party and Vladimir Zhirinovsky of the liberal LDPR party.
