Puppy Rescued From Well in Hungary

A puppy was rescued from the bottom of a well in a suburb of Budapest, Hungary, the country’s disaster management agency (BM OKF) said on Wednesday, August 31.

The dog was saved by firefighters from Vecses, a town just east of Budapest, BM OKF said.

Footage released by the agency shows a firefighter descending a ladder into the dark well. Moments later, he emerges with the dog in his arm and a smile on his face.

In its post on Facebook, BM OKF joked that the dog had thanked the fire crew for rescuing it from the well. Credit: BM Országos Katasztrófavédelem via Storyful
