A Qatar Airways plane was forced to make an emergency landing after a passenger found out about her husband’s alleged affair in the middle of the flight.

The plane, that was heading to Bali, diverted to Chennai in India after the Iranian women reportedly became aggressive when she found out about her husband cheating on her.

The scorned woman is said to have used her husband’s thumb to unlock his phone and read incriminating messages while he was asleep.

Flight attendants were apparently unable to calm the wife – who was reportedly drunk – as she repeatedly hit her partner.

The pilot of the plane had no choice but to make an emergency stop so that the couple and their young child could be removed from the plane.

The family were allowed to board a later flight once the woman had sobered up, according to reports.

A Central Industrial Security Force official said: “A lady along with her husband and a child, all Iranian nationals, were offloaded by Qatar Airline as the lady passenger – who was intoxicated – misbehaved with crew members inflight.
