Fifa are bracing themselves for further damaging revelations tonight after claims of alleged corruption in Qatar’s successful 2022 World Cup bid were published in Germany.

Bild newspaper claims to have the full report written by former FIFA independent ethics investigator Michael Garcia, who left his post in December 2014 in protest at the way his findings regarding the bidding process were published.

The full report was never made public but instead a 42-page “legally appropriate version” was approved by FIFA executives which cleared Qatar of any corruption allegations.

However, Bild claim that Garcia’s 403-page version included details of $2million (£1.6m) allegedly paid to the 10‑year-old daughter of a FIFA official prior to Qatar winning the vote.

Garcia is also alleged to have written that “a former executive committee member congratulated members of the Qatari federation and thanked them by mail for a transfer of several hundred thousand euros” following Qatar’s triumph.

It is also alleged that “three executive members of FIFA with the right to vote went to a party in Rio de Janeiro in a private jet belonging to the Qatari federation before the vote to decide who would host the competition”.

Furthermore, the Aspire Academy in Qatar was “implicated in a decisive manner in the manipulation of FIFA members who had the right to vote”.

Qatar won the vote in 2010 but controversy has dogged the decision ever since.

Bild is set to publish further allegations tonight and in the coming days.
