Queen Camilla issues four-word health update after pulling out of royal events
Queen Camilla has issued an update on her health after pulling out of royal engagements. The 77-year-old returned to public duties today after spending several days resting at home under doctor's orders.
She missed the Remembrance Sunday service, where King Charles, Prince William and Princess Kate gathered to pay tribute to Britain's war dead. It came after Buckingham Palace last week announced Camilla had become unwell with a chest infection and needed to temporarily step back from her role.
Today, she shared an insight into her recovery at a Booker Prize reception at Clarence House. Camilla said: "I'm getting much better.

"Bit of coughing going on. I really wanted to come... I'm always on the mend, these things always take a bit of time to get rid of, but hopefully I'm on the mend now." The Duchess of Gloucester stepped in on Camilla's behalf at the annual opening of the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey on Thursday, November 7.
Although she has now returned to royal duties, Camilla will miss the Gladiator II premiere on Wednesday to support her recovery. She will still attend a Palace reception with the King on Wednesday to celebrate the TV and film industry, a royal aide said.
But she will not be present for all of the event. The changes to her diary are understood to have been made to protect and prioritise her continued recovery, Mirror reports.
Royal doctors are said to be een to prevent any setback from the nasty seasonal illness which saw her pull out of engagements last week. In a statement on November 9, the Palace said she would be taking time to rest and recover her health.
It read: "Following doctors' guidance to ensure a full recovery from a seasonal chest infection, and to protect others from any potential risk, Her Majesty will not attend this weekend's Remembrance events. While this is a source of great disappointment to The Queen, she will mark the occasion privately at home and hopes to return to public duties early next week."
After news Camilla would miss Remembrance Sunday, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK!: "This is such a shame, as to see all the senior royals back on parade together would have been heartening.
"Chest infections can be quite nasty as you grow older and it's important that the Queen follows her doctor's advice and rests. But there are other factors at play here as well: she wouldn't want to risk passing the infection onto Catherine or anybody else."
On the Queen's recuperation, Jennie added: "The Palace hasn't said where Camilla is recovering but it could well be at her home in Ray Mill which would mean she was also keeping a precautionary distance from the King as he resumes his cancer treatment. Another factor is that these are very solemn occasions and no one would want to interrupt the proceedings by coughing and wheezing.
"So I think Camilla would have had an uncomfortable evening and morning at these events, trying to suppress coughs. It will, though, be upsetting for her to miss such an important weekend. As the daughter of a military man, the Remembrance Day commemorations are dear to her heart."
